Austria: a skier's paradise with alpine charm

Where action meets hospitality and cosiness

A ski holiday in Austria is like a visit to a true winter paradise. An alpine country, a winter sports mecca, a ski nation or a snow wonderland: Whatever you want to call it, hardly any other country is quite as multi-faceted as Austria when it comes to winter sports. Very few nations can compete with it when it comes to the quality of the ski resorts.

Alpine villages radiate a rustic charm. Traditional mountain huts serve a variety of culinary delights and invite you to enjoy a cosy get-together. The ski runs boast stunning scenic views of the mountains, and relaxing thermal spas top off the experience. All this and more is skiing and snowboarding in Austria!

Tip: Thanks to the high elevation in the alpine regions and because of eight glacier ski resorts, the Austrian ski season is incredibly long. Between October and May, you can enjoy winter to the fullest on an impressive 22,000 kilometres of slopes.

Ready for your ski holiday in paradise? INTERSPORT Rent will equip you with the latest gear!

More about the ski resorts

All of Austria's ski resorts taken together comprise no less than 22,000 kilometres of ski runs. To ensure that winter sports enthusiasts can thoroughly take advantage of them, cross-regional ski passes are common. Many of them are available at a discounted rate for children, families and groups. Various family-friendly ski resorts also attract visitors with great deals for skiing with children.

Another plus when going skiing in Austria: A majority of the accommodation options are located right by the slopes and ski lifts. So you can simply leave your car parked in the garage for the duration of your ski holiday.
