I paid for the highest level option for ski rental, and asked for freeride or all-mountain ski. The assistant advised on all-mountain because local conditions would mean it was the best option. Unfortunately, the length of ski was too short for my height and weight. On top of that, local conditions would have suited freeride skis, because there was about 20 cm of fresh snow.
I had to go to the bottom lift station to change skis after a couple of hours. The freeride skis were much better. The recommendation in the shop for the first skis was poor advice.
